The Effinger Community Revival schedule is below. The service begins at 7:00 pm each evening.

October 3 at Collierstown Methodist, Steve Willis preaching
October 4 at Collierstown Presbyterian., Horace Douty preaching
Oxford will provide special music on Monday evening.
Each host church will provide refreshments.
All offerings support Weekday Religious Education.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated at Oxford during the morning worship service on October 2, 2016
Save the Date - October 9, 2016 - A special Luncheon honoring Horace Douty for 10 years of service to Oxford. Horace's Favorite Fried Chicken will be provided. Please bring side dishes to share.
The Oxford Session approved a Special Offering which was received August 14 and 21st . This offering will be sent to a church in flood damaged West Virginia. Please write your check to Oxford Presbyterian Church and mark “Flood” in the memo. Please place cash for this offering in a marked envelope. The current total is $1,500. Thank you!

Oxford Hayride !! Following worship on Sunday, October 2, everyone is invited to go on a Hayride- across the creek and up the hill for wonderful views of Oxford and the surrounding area. Bring a bagged lunch and drink which we will eat on top of the hill. Following the hayride: s'mores by the creek!
Please join us for Celebrate the Journey, a women’s monthly informal discussion of Susan Kerr’s book, Intersections of Grace, a collection of reflections on everyday living from a Christian perspective. If you are new to the group, please purchase your book from Amazon, or if you need help, contact Carolyn Yawars.

Horace's Hike: After church on October 16 we will hike to the waterfall in St. Mary's Wilderness upstream from Vesuvius. Our first stop will be Gertie's Country Store where you may purchase lunch/snacks. The hike is two miles each way on a trail- not steep. You may turn back at any point. The Autumn scenery will be striking.
Effinger Community Harvest Festival will be held Saturday, October 29 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Effinger Volunteer Fire Department. Hotdogs will be provided and individuals are asked to provide sides and desserts. Also, volunteers are needed to help with this Community event. A sign-up sheet is in the vestibule.
Oxford Reeves-Whitehurst Scholarship:-
On May 26, 20216, seven local students received scholarships from Oxford Presbyterian Church. The recipients are: Josette Corazza, Jordan Deacon,Edward Leland, Cody Manspile, Conner Ray Potter, Emily Richardson, and Amanda Wright.
On the first Sunday of each month Oxford Church collects the 4 Cents A Meal Offering. This offering supports two local needs: the Community Table which offers a free-will offering meal every week at the RARA building located next to the hospital, and the local Food Pantry for purchase of food items to stock their shelves. Oxford also accepts donations of food and personal items for the Food Pantry. For September we request donations of brown and white rice.
The Oxford Session has established a Pastor's Discretionary Fund which the pastor can use as he deems necessary to help individuals in desperate need. This will be funded by donations only. If you would like to contribute to this fund please write the check to Oxford Presbyterian Church and write "Pastor's Discretionary Fund" in the memo.
