Oxford is offering an exercise class again! Come join us for a Healthy New Year! We will meet every Tuesday and Thursday, at 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We will use some of the Leslie Sansone, “Walk at Home”, dvds again and are looking for new ideas, too.
Exercise is so much more fun together! Hope you will join us.
Celebrate the Journey, the ladies book discussion group, met on Jan. 10 to begin our new book, “Traveling Light”, by Max Lucado. Marysue at The Bookery on Nelson St. can order a copy for you or you can use Amazon online.
All Oxford women are warmly invited to join the book discussion group. Jane B. will host the Feb 2018 meeting at her home from 10:30 am – 12:00 noon.
The Annual Oxford Oyster Supper will be held on Friday, January 26 at 6:30 p.m. The cost of the oysters will be determined by the number of persons eating them. Please bring a side dish or dessert to go along with the fried oysters. Coffee, tea and lemonade will be provided. There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex. Help is needed at 3 p.m. to prepare and fry the oysters and help is also needed to clean up the kitchen and dining room after the meal. Please designate on the sign-up sheet where you will help.

Update on Hamilton School:
Work is to begin on providing the Hamilton Schoolhouse with a foundation. Cut limestone foundation stones are needed. If you can provide any please contact Will Harris. Grant money is available from the Historic Lexington Foundation for repair work on the rafters and roof. If you would like more information, please contact one of the trustees of Hamilton Schoolhouse: Steve Richard, Lisa Black, Ellen Campbell, Tommy Harris, or Michael Pursley.
On the first Sunday of each month Oxford Church collects the 4 Cents A Meal Offering. This offering supports two local needs: the Community Table which offers a free-will offering meal every week at the RARA building located next to the hospital, and the local Food Pantry for purchase of food items to stock their shelves. Oxford also accepts donations of food and personal items for the Food Pantry. For January the Food Pantry requests donations of canned vegatables.

Altar flowers add so much to the beauty of Oxford's sanctuary. If you would like to provide an arrangement for a Sunday, a sign-up sheet is available in the vestibule or you may contact Sunny.
The Oxford Session has established a Pastor's Discretionary Fund which the pastor can use as he deems necessary to help individuals in desperate need. This will be funded by donations only. If you would like to contribute to this fund please write the check to Oxford Presbyterian Church and write "Pastor's Discretionary Fund" in the memo.
