On the first Sunday of each month Oxford Church collects the 4 Cents A Meal Offering. This offering supports two local needs: the Community Table which offers a free-will offering meal every week at the RARA building located next to the hospital, and the local Food Pantry for purchase of food items to stock their shelves. Oxford also accepts donations of food and personal items for the Food Pantry. For May we request donations of deodorant and toothpaste.
Horace's Hike !! Oxford will be hiking the new trail at House Mountain on May 24. We will leave from Oxford Church following the Sunday morning worship service. Please bring your packed lunch with you, which we will eat at Oxford. The hike is not difficult and feel free to turn around at any time.
The Oxford Session has established a Pastor's Discretionary Fund which the pastor can use as he deems necessary to help individuals in desperate need. This will be funded by donations only. If you would like to contribute to this fund please write the check to Oxford Presbyterian Church and write "Pastor's Discretionary Fund" in the memo.
The area's first local "Youth Mental Health First Aid" training event will be held on May 14 and 15, 8:30-12:30 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. The course is free, paid for by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
