Dear Women of Oxford Church,
Please join Ellen Douty and Carolyn Yawars for Celebrate the Journey, a 5 week informal discussion of Susan Kerr’s book, Intersections of Grace, Reflections on a Life of Faith. We think this book will help you realize faith is the means to face challenges confronting us all.
A sample book is located on the table in the narthex. Please let Ellen know as soon as possible if you plan to attend and need a copy. The cost is $18.90 each. Orders will be placed in February. Books and study guides will be delivered in February for the first meeting. Contact Ellen.
Meetings will take place each Wednesday in March at Ellen’s home, 10:30 – 11:45. Light refreshments will be served.
This is intended to be an enlightening and enjoyable interaction. Rest assured there are no right or wrong answers. Hope you will join us to celebrate our journey in faith!
On the first Sunday of each month Oxford Church collects the 4 Cents A Meal Offering. This offering supports two local needs: the Community Table which offers a free-will offering meal every week at the RARA building located next to the hospital, and the local Food Pantry for purchase of food items to stock their shelves. Oxford also accepts donations of food and personal items for the Food Pantry. For January we request donations of Body Wash.
The Oxford Session has established a Pastor's Discretionary Fund which the pastor can use as he deems necessary to help individuals in desperate need. This will be funded by donations only. If you would like to contribute to this fund please write the check to Oxford Presbyterian Church and write "Pastor's Discretionary Fund" in the memo.
There are copies of "Celebrate Effinger 1922-2010" by Clinton Anderson still available. Contact Evelyn Ayers.
The Oxford website contains a calendar with Oxford Happenings, community events and birthdays of Oxford’s members. If you do not want your name to be listed on the date of your birthday (month and day only) please contact Susan or Rusty Keith.
If you happen to take any pictures at Oxford events please share them with the website editorial team so the pictures may be used on the Oxford website!
Please assist Rev. Douty in his pastoral work by informing him when you or your friends need his particular attention, or when you simply desire a prayer in your home.....day or night.
