Festival of First Fruits and Thanksgiving covered dish lunch
Oxford celebrated the Festival of First Fruits on Sunday, November 24, 2013. The moving celebration focused on the gifts of the earth and also our gifts to our church and community. Following the service the congregation enjoyed a covered dish lunch featuring wild roast turkey from the hills of Rockbridge County. The pictures above are from the luncheon.
A congregational meeting is scheduled for Sunday, December 1, 2013, following worship at Oxford. The purpose of this meeting is to elect four members to the Session, Class of 2016.
PALMER COMMUNITY CENTER ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER !! December 1, 2013.
Always held the first Sunday in December, this community gathering is a highlight of the year as friends and neighbors gather to enjoy great food and sing Christmas carols in preparation for the season. Please plan to join us!
December 15 will be a busy morning at Oxford! The Children's Christmas Program will take place during the worship service. If your children would like to participate in the program, practices will take place each Sunday morning at 10 AM. Also that morning, Oxford will receive new members. If you would like to join Oxford please contact the minister.

Our children are especially fortunate to be led by the gifted Kari Corazza. Bring your children and your grandchildren and your neighbor's children! (We are getting ready for our Christmas Program !)

December 1 - Dave Reynolds, "What Makes America Exceptional?"
During December the local Food Pantry is requesting donations of canned tuna and salmon to stock their shelves. Donations may be left at Oxford Church!
There are copies of "Celebrate Effinger 1922-2010" by Clinton Anderson still available. Contact Evelyn Ayers.
Stays at the Rockbridge Retreat for wounded special forces veterans and their families have ended for this summer. Community support will be needed for this mission next year. If you would like to give to this mission please write your check to Oxford Church, mark "Rockbridge Retreat" in the memo, and send to Oxford Presbyterian Church.
